Andrew A. McNeill graduated from Texas State University in San Marcos, Texas with a B.A. in Print Journalism and Minor in Writing in August 2008. He currently lives in Austin, Texas.
Andrew played two years of college basketball (well, was injured one and played the other) at Temple College in Temple, Texas, before deciding to hang ‘em up and focus on school (and a social life). At Texas State, Andrew spent time working on the sports staffs of both the campus radio station (KTSW 89.9 FM) and the campus newspaper (The University Star).
Andrew is currently an Interactive Coordinator at South by Southwest in Austin, Texas and a staff writer for the ESPN.com TrueHoop-affiliated San Antonio Spurs blog 48 Minutes of Hell.
Andrew is a fan of the San Antonio Spurs, Houston Astros, Houston Texans, and Tottenham Hotspur of the English Premier League. He also thinks Texas State University’s athletic department is on the right track and the “Memorial Day Miracle” was the most underrated NBA playoff moment of all-time (and not just because he was at that game).
The best compliment Andrew ever received was when his friend Jon told him one day, “you know, you’re just a big asshole, but you just smile all the time so people think you’re nice.”
